Our safety commitment: the standard
The law of 3 January 2003 on swimming pool safety aims to prevent the risk of drowning among young children. This law requires the installation of a standardised device:
- Since 1 January 2004, newly built private swimming pools, whether for individual or collective use, must be equipped with a safety device.
- Since 1 May 2004, existing swimming pools in holiday homes have also been subject to this obligation.
- Since 1 January 2006, all other existing swimming pools must be equipped with a safety device.
This applies to private swimming pools for individual or collective outdoor use, with an in-ground or semi in-ground pool.
The safety products are tested by test laboratories and comply with the safety requirements of the NF P90-308 standard.
The standard concerns manufacturers and directly involves installers and users.
The standard defines the contents of the installation, use, maintenance and safety instructions, which must be handed over to the user for his or her perusal and retention for future reference.
